Grape flea beetles have been detected in Hastings and Stillwater vineyards. Currently the growth stage at most vineyards is between bud swell and first leaf separated from shoot tip. These growth stages are the most susceptible to flea beetle feeding damage. Flea beetle sampling should be done during the bud swell to first leaf separated from shoot tip stages (twice a week) by checking for damaged buds and flea beetles. If 5% of the buds are damaged, control measures should be taken. For more information on grape flea beetles, see the new fact sheet at http://www.vegedge.umn.edu/vegpest/grapes/FleaBeetle.htm
