Cabbage Insect Update

Bill Hutchison, Dept. of Entomology, University of Minnesota, St. Paul, Minn.

Late-season cabbage, that last week, was averaging approx. 5% of the plants infested with either cabbage looper or imported cabbageworm (ICW) larvae, increased to 10% this week. Very high numbers of ICW butterflies are laying eggs in canola planted at the Rosemount Expt. Station, but few of these butterflies are moving into cabbage.
