Fruit and Vegetable Educational Meetings

Upper Midwest Regional Fruit and Vegetable Growers Conference, St. Cloud Minnesota! Sign up Now!

Since the 1999 meeting, this diverse annual conference has formally been expanded to include more growers and extension specialists from North Dakota as well as Minnesota. The conference has also attracted growers from South Dakota, Iowa and western Wisconsin. The conference is sponsored by the Minnesota Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association (MFVGA), the University of Minnesota Extension Service the NDSU Extension Service, and Minnesota Dept. of Agriculture. The 2000 conference will be held from Thursday, February 3 to Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000 at the St. Cloud Civic Center (and Kelly Inn Hotel), St. Cloud, Minnesota. All aspects of production, pest management and marketing for fruits and vegetables will be covered by a variety of speakers. Sessions have also been organized for both beginning and veteran growers.

Selected topics to be covered both days include:

  • Strawberry pest management; Hope and hype of disease and insect pest management alternatives (Mark Gleason, Iowa State University)
