A new Midwest regional publication and poster, "Weed Emergence Sequences" is now available from the Minnesota Extension Service. This is a joint Iowa State, University of Illinois, University of Wisconsin and University of Minnesota publication. A brief description is as follows:

The Publication (#MI-7527), Weed Emergence Sequences: 8.5 x 11 inch format, The Poster (MI-7528), Weed Emergence Sequences, 18 x 24 inch size.

This is a four-color publication that identifies the seedling stage of 16 common annual weeds and their emergence sequences. Knowing when weeds begin to emerge can improve weed management by helping to determine when to scout fields and implement control tactics.

This publication is a follow-up to the 1997 publication "Relative emergence sequence for weeds of corn and soybeans (#FO-6958-GO), which is still available in the distribution center.

The cost for MI-7527 and 7528 (excluding shipping fees) is as follows:

To order: A customer may receive the first 10 copies of either the poster or notebook size free of charge. Orders exceeding 10 copies will pay $1 / poster and $0.25 / notebook size.

The publications can be ordered by calling the Extension service Distribution Center at: 1-800-876-8636, or be sending an email to: order@extension.umn.edu

It may also be available at Minnesota Extension Service County offices.
