Plan now to attend the 2001 Vegetable IPM Field Day, sponsored by the University of Minnesota Extension Service, MN Pesticide Survey and Impact Program (PSI), the MN Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association, and the Minnesota Dept. of Agriculture IPM Program.

The 2001 field day will be held at the U of M Rosemount Research and Outreach Center (Dakota Co.), East-central MN (http://rroc.coafes.umn.edu/), Wednesday, August 22, 2001. The field day will provide a unique opportunity for Vegetable Processors, Fresh-market growers, as well as Crop Protection and Seed Company reps to view numerous IPM and Biological Control Research studies in progress.

Vegetable IPM Program and Schedule:
12:00-1:30	Registration, Lunch: BBQ brats, burgers, sweet corn, veggies, refreshments, Displays: live and mounted insects, IPM exhibits and suppliers, MDA, MFVGA, MN PSI, Farm Alliance, MDA IPM Program (Register to win Twins and Gopher tickets/other giveaways!)
1:30	Program introduction/welcome: Dr. Dave Walgenbach, Station Head, Rosemount Research and Outreach Center; Dr. Bill Hutchison, Dept. of Entomology, U of M
1:35-1:50	Soil fertility on potatoes, cabbage neutraceutical research update (Dr. Carl Rosen)
2:00-3:00	Rosemount IPM Demo/Irrigation Tour (Wagon Tour) Vegetable IPM Partnership: U of M/Pahl's Farms (Hutchison and Dr. Jerry Wright-U of M Morris) MDA IPM Demonstration Project-Cabbage and Cucurbits (Eric Burkness and Hutchison)
3:00-4:00	Plant Pathology Tour (Wagon tour) Sweet Corn: corn borer, corn earworm and aphid control (Hutchison) Seed Treatment updates: snap bean and sweet corn (Burkness) Bt corn, milkweed and monarchs: research update (Bob Koch) Potatoes: aphid and potato leafhopper control/biological control (Drs. Joseph Munyaneza and Dave Ragsdale)
